RAINING CATS AND DOGS
life doesn’t come packaged
in a bandbox
tied with a bow
no, it does not
It often comes
full speed
like a hurricane
we are battered and broken
when we think
we have closed all the doors
latched the windows
safe inside
nothing can touch us here
sure enough
the wind takes the roof
we are exposed after all
all that we love
all that we care about
nothing is safe
raining cats and dogs
For Sherry's prompt at What's Going On - Raining Cats and Dogs
Wow! an ingenous use of the prompt. I love this poem... true nothing actually is safe! Bravo on your creative use of raining cats and dogs.. Love that as a final line!
ReplyDelete"nothing is safe"...It may seem highly philosophic nonetheless this is nothing but true. Experiences teach us this way. Well put Annell.
