CHALLENGE
Life is made of challenges
From the beginning
Once out of the womb
A little one is challenged
To take a breath
So much to learn
So much to do
Nothing seems easy
Everything hard
Where am I?
Who are these people?
What are the sounds they are making?
We are challenged to
Learn to speak
Put away baby talk
Get on with it
Learn to walk
All wobbly
Put one foot in front of the other
The world won’t stay still
Soon enough, we will be running
Clapping
Laughing
Many things come to us
But others only through
Hard work and practice
As we grow
So, too, the challenges
It is said if we knew what
Was ahead, maybe we wouldn’t go
I so often say it is good I didnt know what was ahead on my journey - so many unexpected and difficult - and often joyous - things. You have expressed this so well in your poem!
