Friendship

Friendship

I dedicate this poem to Sherry, a true friend if ever there was one.

Is a hat you wear

To protect from the rain

Sun or snow

Or maybe friendship

Keeps you company

When you are alone

In the darkest night

Friendship holds on

When things go wrong

It likes to take a walk

Whenever you do

Friendship welcomes you

Even when unexpected

Holds out its hand to you

So, you never are alone

Friendship always thinks

The best of you

Even when you don’t

Friendship is a place

That is safe

Never scary or mean

Friendship is hard to come by

Something special

Something kind

Give it time

It will reveal itself to you

And if it turns out not to be friendship

Let it go as easy as it came
