SATURDAY MORNING
I want to lie by your side
To breathe your breath
Sing me a song
I love you
The world is torn
Remnants lie in the street
With your body
Cauliflower and cheese
My Son, my brave Son
Your last breath given to the woman
With the red backpack
Ice and snow
Someone pushed her hard
Made her fall
You came to the rescue
Tried to help
Shot in the back ten times
Do you think that was enough?
Penned down, hit and punched
My precious love
for the prompt at What's Going On - Help for Hurting Hearts
Annell, you capture this so well. I can see that woman and her back pack, see him trying to help. What happened next I can hardly bear. Your love sings through this poem. I am so glad to have read it.
